Fat Injection
Fat injection is the process of transferring the fats taken from one part of the body to other body parts of the same person with special cannulas.
It is possible to apply to all suitable areas needed in the body. Face cheek, cheekbone, jaw tip area, hands, breasts, legs, etc. used in places.The injected fat cells can maintain viability in the region where they are transferred at various rates. Although this ratio varies from person to person, it can be 20-50 percent. The persistence rate varies according to the places where the fat injection is applied. Stability in the body after immobilization is higher in immobile areas such as the cheek area, whereas in mobile areas such as the leg area retention rate is lower.
After the fat injection process, the amount of fat remaining in the body remains after about 6 months. Sometimes a second or third injection is required. What are the postoperative considerations?
The patient is usually discharged on the day of surgery. If injected in large amounts and in multiple areas, the patient is kept in hospital for another day. There is no excessive pain after surgery. Some swelling and bruising is seen at the injection site. This returns to normal within about 7-10 days.
